Mondejar Gallery Receives National Press Coverage in The Philippine Star

Mondejar Gallery is acknowledged in The Philippine Star, one of the Philippines’ leading national newspapers, read by millions across its printed and widely circulated editions, in connection with its presentation of Norman Anderson, known as Normski, at photoSCHWEIZ 2026.

The feature situates the Gallery’s curatorial direction under Minerva Mondejar Steiner within a wider framework of cultural exchange between the Philippines and Europe, reflecting an ongoing engagement with works of historical and contemporary relevance.

At the centre of the presentation, Man with the Golden Shutter emerges as a visual record of late twentieth-century urban culture. Developed within London’s underground scenes of the 1980s and 1990s, the photographs trace formative moments in the evolution of hip-hop and electronic music, capturing artists and environments prior to their wider recognition.

Presented in Zurich, the works enter a distinct context of reception, engaging an international field of collectors and institutions.

Normski’s international representation is guided by Darryl von Däniken, whose role contributes to the continuity and global positioning of the artist’s work.

This recognition forms part of the Gallery’s continuing programme, in which historically significant works are placed within an evolving international dialogue.

Mondejar Gallery acknowledges The Philippine Star for its considered coverage.
